The Rochelle Wrestling Club traveled south for the 2025 Jon Davis Kids Open at the Bank of Springfield Center on Sunday, Jan. 19. The club fielded five champions, including two champions in the Elite Division, as well as a pair of runner-up finishers.

Andronic, Windham earn titles in Elite Division

SPRINGFIELD — The Rochelle Wrestling Club traveled south for the 2025 Jon Davis Kids Open at the Bank of Springfield Center on Sunday, Jan. 19. The club fielded five champions, including two champions in the Elite Division, as well as a pair of runner-up finishers.

Nehemiah Andronic and Jacksyn Windham each finished first in the Elite Division. Andronic took first in the Elite Intermediate 79 Division with a 4-0 record, scoring a 9-3 decision over Belvidere’s Jackson Moreno and a 5-1 decision over Falcon Youth Wrestling’s Beau Fields in the first two rounds. Andronic sealed his championship with a fall over Belvidere’s Conrad Barber and a 16-4 major decision against Morton Youth Wrestling Club’s Kane Gabbert.

Windham took first in the Elite Senior 215 Division with a 3-0 record, stringing together three consecutive falls over Blackhawk Wrestling’s Isaiah Velasquez as well as Vandalia’s Aaron Lash and Iguana Wrestling’s Reginald Luckett. Elias Andronic took first in the Open Bantam 46 Division with a 3-0 record, earning falls over Dwight’s Asher Harris and Wilmington’s Kyler Murphy in between posting a 9-4 decision against Dinamo Wrestling’s Henry Erwinski.

Grant Cole took first in the Open Intermediate 20 Division with a 3-0 record, securing three straight decisions including a 7-4 win over Lionheart Wrestling’s Alekai Perez as well as a 2-0 win over Lawrence County’s Eli Umpleby and a 3-1 win over Iguana Wrestling’s Turner Dunlop. Raya Windham took first in the Open Girls 26 Division with a 3-0 record, notching three falls over MadDog’s Stella Floreani, Carbondale’s Star Stoelze and Barrington’s Lilyana Martinez.

Eoghan Good finished second in the Open Bantam 22 Division with a 2-1 record, posting a 19-3 technical fall over Decatur Lakers Wrestling Club’s Parker Young and a 12-0 major decision over Frankfort Wildcats Wrestling’s Casey Molenaar. Garrett Miller finished second in the Open Novice 26 Division with a 2-1 record, scoring a 9-5 decision against Evanston School of Wrestling’s Joshua McPherson and a fall over Mt. Zion Kids Wrestling Club’s Samson Crosby.
