The Rochelle Wrestling Club sent 19 athletes to the 2025 St. Charles Battle for the Shield on Sunday, Feb. 9. Two individuals took home championships, while seven others recorded runner-up finishes and three more secured third-place finishes in the tournament.

ST. CHARLES — The Rochelle Wrestling Club sent 19 athletes to the 2025 St. Charles Battle for the Shield on Sunday, Feb. 9. Two individuals took home championships, while seven others recorded runner-up finishes and three more secured third-place finishes in the tournament.

Elias Andronic finished first in the Boys Bantam 60-62 Division with a 3-0 record. Andronic opened with a quarterfinal-round fall over Tony Capriola Sr. Wrestling Club’s Ethan North before posting a 16-3 major decision over Built by Brunson’s Brody Cohen. Andronic clinched the championship with a final-round fall against Lemont Bears Wrestling Club’s John Wiatr.

Raya Windham finished first in the Girls Intermediate 107-117 Division with a 2-0 record, notching back-to-back falls over West Suburban Girls Wrestling Club’s Maya Moore and Sandwich Wrestling Club’s Avery Salmieri. Amos Andronic took second in the Boys Tot 40-42 Division with a 2-1 record, earning two technical falls including a 16-0 technical fall over Celtic Wrestling’s Rory Adent and a 18-2 technical fall over Batavia Wrestling’s Maverick Grant.

Ty Johnson took second in the Boys Tot 41-44 Division with a 2-1 record, securing two straight falls against Batavia’s Alex Kazenko and Lake Zurich’s Xander Aufmann. Isaiah Harper took second in the Boys Tot 42-43 Division with a 2-1 record, earning a fall over St. Charles Wrestling’s Liam Ferguson before scoring a 10-6 decision against McHenry’s Emmett Mullen.

Eoghan Good took second in the Boys Bantam 51-53 Division with a 2-1 record, posting a fall over nWo’s Samuel Ebner and a 10-2 major decision against Sandwich’s Harley Miller. Nehemiah Andronic took second in the Boys Intermediate 73-80 Division with a 2-1 record, securing a 3-0 decision over Belvidere’s Jackson Moreno and a fall over Lemont’s Jacob Hamid.

Benjamin Morris took second in the Boys Senior 164-176 Division with a 2-1 record, earning a 13-0 major decision over Fox Valley Wrestling Club’s Kevin Schmidt and a forfeit from Oswego Wrestling Club’s William Albertson. Jacksyn Windham took second in the Boys Senior 199-271 Division with a 2-1 record, receiving a forfeit victory from Crystal Lake Wizards Wrestling’s Nathan Walsh before picking up a 1-0 decision over Iguana Wrestling Club’s Reginald Luckett.

Elliot Huff placed third in the Boys Intermediate 75-78 Division with a 2-1 record, posting falls over St. Charles Wrestling’s Cristiano Catanzaro and Golden Eagles wrestler Nariman Siitov. Xander Gonzales placed third in the Boys Intermediate 134-146 Division with a 2-2 record, securing falls against Team 312’s Louis Rachmaciej and Ottawa Wolfpack’s Logan Kirkman.

Cooper Harris placed third in the Boys Bantam 59-60 Division with a 2-1 record, scoring an 18-3 technical fall against Batavia Wrestling’s Zachary Brink and an 8-7 decision against Wolves Wrestling’s James Forsberg. Teddy Millard took fourth in the Boys Novice 74-79 Division with a 1-2 record, compiling a 26-9 technical fall against Will County Warriors wrestler Everado Cortez.

Chase Marruffo took fourth in the Boys Intermediate 95-97 Division with a 1-2 record, notching a 4-1 decision against ISI’s Joey Gutierrez. Oliver Stolte finished fifth in the Boys Tot 48-51 Division with a 2-1 record, locking down an 18-2 technical fall against Reed Custer Jr. Wrestling’s Luke Forsythe and a fall against Stockton Renegades wrestler Will Shoemaker.

Wells Millard finished fifth in the Boys Intermediate 61-65 Division with a 2-1 record, scoring a 19-14 decision over Olympia Wrestling’s Harte Burrell and a fall over Fox Valley’s Hunter Horne. Grant Cole finished fifth in the Boys Intermediate 77-79 Division with a 2-1 record, posting a fall over Yorkville’s Brock Retterer and an 8-6 decision over Mustangs WC’s Michael Fitzpatrick.

Easton Huff took sixth in the Boys Bantam 84-92 Division with a 1-2 record, securing a fall over Geneva Junior Vikings wrestler Monroe Thetford. Josh Hernandez took sixth in the Boys Senior 108-112 Division with a 1-2 record, scoring a 7-6 decision over Geneva’s Peyton Weiss.
