ROCHELLE — Seven members of the Rochelle Hub wrestling team received All-Conference First Team honors from the Interstate 8 for the 2024-25 season. Kaiden Morris, Grant Gensler, Xavier Villalobos, Roman Villalobos, Freddie Hernandez, Brenden Voight and Aidan Lopez all earned First-Team honors. Josh Lassiter and Deegan Schabacker were Honorable Mentions.

Kaiden Morris finished with a 49-5 record and medaled in fifth at the IHSA State Championship. Morris won four tournaments this season, finishing first in the Giardini Invitational at Rockford East as well as the XLIX Sycamore Invitational, the Marty Williams Invitational at Mahomet and the IHSA 2A Regional at Dixon. Morris set new school records for career wins (172), career pins (85) and wins for a single season (49) while tying the school record for pins in a season (30).

Grant Gensler finished with a 49-7 record and medaled in fifth at the IHSA State Championship. Gensler won two tournaments this season, finishing first in the XLIX Sycamore Invitational and the Marty Williams Invitational at Mahomet. Gensler, who took second in the IHSA 2A Regional at Dixon and the IHSA 2A Sectional at Washington, set school records in wins for a season (49) and career technical falls (11) while tying the school record for technical falls in a season (6).

Xavier Villalobos finished with a 42-6 record and medaled in second at the IHSA State Championship for the second time in his career. Villalobos, who set school records as a four-time IHSA state qualifier and a three-time IHSA state medalist, won three tournaments including the Marty Williams Invitational, the IHSA 2A Regional and the IHSA 2A Sectional.

Roman Villalobos finished with a 39-12 record and became a first-time IHSA state qualifier this season. A two-time IHSA sectional qualifier, Villalobos won the IHSA 2A Regional at Dixon while taking third in both the Giardini Invitational at Rockford East and the XLIX Sycamore Invitational. Villalobos placed fourth at both the Marty Williams Invitational and the IHSA 2A Sectional.

Freddie Hernandez finished with a 34-14 record and became a three-time IHSA sectional qualifier this season. Hernandez earned two runner-up finishes during his junior season, taking second in the Giardini Invitational at Rockford East and the IHSA 2A Regional at Dixon. 

Brenden Voight finished with a 27-9 record this season. Voight took first in the Giardini Invitational at Rockford East and fourth in the Marty Williams Invitational at Mahomet. Aidan Lopez finished with a 34-13 record during his freshman season, placing fifth in the Marty Williams Invitational at Mahomet and sixth at the XLIX Sycamore Invitational.
