ROCHELLE — On Dec. 7, 2019 at the age of 77, Barbara Kannheiser passed away unexpectedly while in Florida. Barb was born on July 13th, 1942 to Harland and Jean (Davis) Friestad. She married Raymond T. Kannheiser on Nov. 30th, 1963 and had two children.
She worked for Dr. Kortiz and Dr. Bogue for many years. Then she became an insurance associate for Ed Bender Insurance in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, where she generously served the senior community for 30 plus years. She was the rock and soul of the entire family.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Ray; son, Michael Kannheiser; daughter, Renee Anders; granddaughters, Tarryn Anders, Marrisa Kannheiser, Amber Anders and Kayden Kannheiser; great-grandsons, Damion Anders, Kash Kannheiser and Kellen Piotrowski; sister, Cheryl (Jim) Pierson; nephews, Jason (Heather) Pierson, Ryan (Jade) Pierson, Josh (Jenna) Pierson and niece, Shelly (Harry) Trefes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harland and Jean Friestad.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. Sixth St., Rochelle, with Chaplain Judy Williams officiating. The visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13 at the funeral home. The burial will follow the service at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Barb’s memory to Rochelle Junior Tackle, Rochelle Township High School Dance Team, St. John’s Lutheran Church or the Kitchen Table.
