DEKALB — Bertha May Woolbright Daub, 97, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017 at DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing Center. She was born Dec. 20, 1919, in Tupelo, Miss., the daughter of Luther and Rosie (nee Cornelius) Pruitt.
May worked for many years at Morgan Dye/Caron in Rochelle. She was a member of the Cathedral of Praise in DeKalb. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother to her large family.
May is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Buck Woolbright and William Daub; her daughter, Shirley; five brothers; one sister; and three grandchildren.
May is survived by her children, Dorothy (Don) Montavon, Herschel (Faye) Woolbright, Joyce (Art) Waters, Walter (Linda) Woolbright, Carol Banks, and Larry Woolbright; a step-son, Robert (Linda) Daub; 13 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and 2 step great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9 at the Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. Sixth Street, Rochelle, with Chaplain Judy Williams officiating. Visitation will also be on Thursday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. prior to the funeral. Burial will be at the Lawnridge Cemetery.
