DAVIS JUNCTION – Daveen Jo Winters, 73, of Davis Junction, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 4, 2017. She was born in Rockford on Sept. 14, 1943 to David and Lelah Wetherell (Knott). Daveen loved her numerous animals on her farm. She enjoyed the company and lovingly tormenting her nieces and nephews. A beloved wife, sister, aunt and dear friend, she will remain in our hearts forever.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, James E. Winters; sister, Maureen (Joe) Rekemeyer; niece, Colleen (Jerry) Yarbrough; great-nieces and nephews, Travis, Tyler, Danielle and Jacob; many dear friends; super dogs, Libby and Holly; and numerous beloved chickens.
She is predeceased by her parents; and niece, Janel Gonzales.
A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held Saturday, March 11 at 11 a.m. at Davis Junction United Methodist Church, 201 East Chicago Avenue (IL Route 72), with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. A Fellowship luncheon will be held at the Davis Junction Fire Department following services. Cremation rites have been accorded.
