ELGIN — Gregory Alan Haws, 54, passed away on Friday, Oct. 27, 2017 in Elgin. He was born on Dec. 15, 1962 in Colorado Springs, Colo., the son of Arthur Paul and Alice Marie (Smith) Haws. Greg was an avid Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks fan.
He is preceded in death by his father, Art Haws, Sr. and brother, Roger Haws.
Greg is survived by his four children, Jacob Haws, Joshua Haws, Alicia (Phil Watson) Haws, and Annmarie (Alex Sanchez-Martinez) Haws; six grandchildren, Kaylin Eddy, Kameron Haws, Kyle Haws, Iziekial Shields-Haws, Izierus Martinez-Haws, and Emileo Martinez-Haws; mother, Alice Haws; sister, Susan (Douglas) Fugate of Milton, Wis.; two brothers, Arthur (Sherry Inness) Haws, Jr. of Lindenwood, Gary (Shelley) Haws of Rochelle; nieces and nephews, Amanda (Kyle) Johnson, Zachary (Sara) Fugate, Arthur P. (Daisy) Haws III, Andrew David (Tasha Gomez) Haws, Nicholas (Angela) Haws, Jonathan (Ashley) Haws, Sr., and many cousins.
Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 6 at the Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. Sixth St., Rochelle, with Pastor Jon Grice officiating. Burial of cremains will be at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the Elgin Wayside Center.
