ROCHELLE — Juanita Copeland, 79, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017 at her home. Juanita was born Dec. 2, 1937 to Thomas and Dorothy (Winchester) Chambers in DeKalb. Juanita married James I. Copeland on July 20, 1957 at Herando, Miss. He preceded her in death on Dec. 10, 2008. She worked at Eaton’s for 34 years.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her son, Randy Copeland; brother, George Chambers; and two sisters, Joy Helton and Florence Hector.
Juanita is survived by her five children, James Copeland, Susan Mickley, Allen (Edenir) Copeland, David Copeland and Michael Copeland; three brothers, Merle (Arlene) Chambers of Malta, James Chambers of Illinois, Donald (Jane) Chambers of Okla.; five sisters, Carol Pate of Iowa, Judy (Merritt) Titman of Tennessee, Alice Elliott of Florida, Kathy Fry of Tennessee and Cheryl (Richard) Harris of Illinois; 12 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
The visitation will be held from 9 – 11 a.m. on Friday, June 9 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. Sixth St., Rochelle. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial is at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle.
