ROCHELLE — Lowaine L. Bucher, 69, passed away Friday, March 10, 2017 in Franklin Grove. Lowaine was born on Sept. 15, 1947 to Gordon and Grace (Ludvigsen) Ankney in Chicago. She married Kenneth Bucher on Jan. 31, 1986 in Paynes Point.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Geoffrey; and nephew, Boyd McCoy.
Lowaine loved doing puzzles, shopping, going to family sporting events, and spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her selflessness, smile, sense of humor, and endless love for others.
Lowaine is survived by her daughters, Teresa (Patrick) Pauser of Rochelle, and Shelly (Mike) Sallie of Blountville, Tenn.; two step-daughters, Marilyn Bucher and Debbie Herzog both of Rockford; two brothers, Ron (Freda) Ankney of Rochelle, and Rod Ankney of Centreville, Va.; three sisters, Dorene (Butch) TeBockhorst of St. Augustine, Fla., Cheryl (Dan) Potts of Dandridge, Tenn., and Laurie Kramer of Rochelle; five grandchildren, Blake (Mallory) Sallie, Ethan (Kayla) Johnson, Logan Sallie, Tyler (Summer) Johnson and Zachary Pauser; six great-grandchildren, Maddox and Jaxon Johnson, Sunny and Ruby Sallie and Aubrey and Marley Johnson. Lowaine is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts.
A special thank you to Lowaine’s niece, Brandi Ankney, Serenity Hospice and Home, and the staff at Franklin Grove Nursing Home.
The visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 18 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1415 10th Avenue, Rochelle. The funeral will follow at noon at the church with Pastor Gregory Hoffmann officiating. Burial is at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle.
