OHIO – Marie E. Johnson, 93, died at home Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017 following an extended illness.
Marie was born on May 6, 1924 in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of Arnold and Mary (Mell) Kittle. She was employed as a Nurse’s Aide for many years having been employed with the Dixon State School, Dixon and H. Douglas Singer Mental Health & Developmental Disabilities Center in Rockford. Marie served her country during WWII in the United States Navy.
Survivors include, one daughter, Linda Lowe of LaMoille; three sons, George Edward Johnson of Rochelle, Michael Arnold Johnson of Rockford and Casey William (Mary) Johnson of Ohio; two sisters, Karen Gardona of Rockford and Judy Dettman of Holman, Wis.; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Jenny Olson; two brothers, Roger and Earl; and four sisters, Sylvia, Virginia, Betty and Gene.
There are no services. Cremation rites have been accorded. Arrangements were completed by the Garland Funeral Home, Walnut.
In lieu of flower a memorial has been established to St. Margaret Spring Valley Hospice.
