ROCHELLE — Monica Ann Pemberton, 42, of Rochelle, passed away May 3, 2020.
She was born June 15, 1977, the daughter of Terry (Robinson) Roberts and Johnnie Flanagin. She married Joseph Pemberton.
Monica was employed by Central Bank Illinois. She enjoyed attending Heartland Church in Rockford.
Monica loved being outdoors in nature, seeing all of the beautiful flowers, plants and birds. She also had a thing about being by water. If she was on or near any body of water she was a happy girl. She also loved decorating and cooking many things with her own recipes.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph, of Rochelle; children, Britney Jones of Fort Worth, Texas, Austin Pemberton and Alex Pemberton, both of Rochelle; her mother, Terry Roberts; her father, Johnnie Flanagin; her brother, John Flanagin; two special nieces, Karma and Serenity; and many cousins in Texas.
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Johnnie and Winnie Flanagin; maternal grandparents, Robert and Joyce Robinson; step-father, Jeff Roberts; and uncle, Lonnie Black.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held sometime this summer.
