ASHTON — Richard T. Turner, 88, of Ashton passed away Friday, Sept 10 at home with family. 

He was born Jan. 23, 1933, in Haleyville, Alabama, the son of J.B. and Charity (McCormick) Turner. Richard married Norma Bakken on Sept. 1, 1956.

Richard is survived by his wife, Norma, three daughters, Debra Turner of Dixon, Jodi (Bill) Vogeler of O'Fallon, Missouri, and Lisa (Jerry) King of Esmond; 10 grandchildren, Erica (CJ) Sawyer of Dunn, North Carolina, Nathan (Cassandra) Parks of Steward, Erin (Amador) Ramos of Lindenwood, Nolan (Rachel) Turner of Minneapolis,  Jake (Sara) Vogeler of Petersburg, Virginia, Brandi (Justin) Post of Lee, Jami (Luke) Sandine of O' Fallon, Missouri, Shelli (Matt) Solfisburg of DeKalb, Kelli Vogeler of O'Fallon, Missouri and Richard King of Rochelle; 27 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; one sister, Sue Larsen of Texas and many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Louise Dolan and five brothers: Orbie, John, Roland, Curtis, and Wayne Turner. 

A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon followed by the funeral service on Monday, Sept 20 at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb.
