ESMOND — Vera Ann Myroth, 89, of Esmond, passed away peacefully Feb. 9, 2018 at Franklin Grove Nursing Center. She was born on March 2, 1928 to Larkin and Rose (Bradford) Austin in Malta Township.
Vera and Bob ran a grocery store in Rochelle for many years. She was a collector of Shirley Temple dolls and even met Shirley Temple. She had a paramount love story, being married to her husband Robert for 72 years, and her love for Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her son, Michael (Mary) Myroth of Esmond; her grandchildren, Jessica (Jason) Myroth-Erlandson of Dekalb, Susan (Mark) Schabacker of Rochelle, and LaDonna (Timothy Kelk) Myroth of Sunnyside, N.Y.; her great-grandchildren, Victoria, Aurora, Isabella, James, Liam Myroth-Erlandson and Miles Kolk; her sister, Lila Rose Maynard of Iowa; and her brother, Louis Austin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; sons, Larry and Dannie Myroth; her great-grandson, Noah Schabacker; her sisters, Irene Cardot and Lorene Dennison; and her brother, Olen Austin.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 15 at 12 p.m. at Beverage Lyons Family Funeral Home with Pastor James Tilley officiating. Burial will follow to Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. prior to the service.
