ROCHELLE — Virginia Clara Sell, 99, passed away peacefully at Franklin Grove Living and Rehabilitation Center in Franklin Grove. Virginia was born on Jan. 21, 1921 to George and Edna (Luessman) Witthoefft in Chicago. She married George Arthur Sell on June 11, 1937 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on March 1, 2011.
A long time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rochelle and the Women’s Guild.
An avid card player and crocheting many crafts and afghans.
Virginia is survived by her three children, George (Carole) Sell of Visalia, California, Carol (the late Richard) Nilles of Valrico, Florida, and Lorna (Gary) Haverland of Bartow, Florida; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 27 great-great grandchildren and
three great-great-great grandchildren.
There will be a private family funeral service Tuesday, March 24 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Gregory Hoffmann officiating. Burial will follow the service at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle.
Memorials may be made in Virginia’s memory to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
