GENOA — The Rochelle 561 Sluggers 11U baseball team won all four of its games to finish first in the 2024 Blue Badger Baseball Bash from June 8-9. Rochelle scored two wins on Saturday, June 8 before concluding the tournament with two more victories on Sunday, June 9.

Rochelle teed off the tournament with an 11-8 win over the Woodstock Heat 11U team. Brayson Bouland crushed his first-ever grand slam and finished with four RBIs, while Cody Cox went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Brecken Bruns, Roberto Bugarin, Landon Johnson and Gwen Good each recorded an RBI to aid the Rochelle offense in the opening-round win.

The 561 Sluggers concluded Saturday’s action with a 19-4 victory against the GK Generals 11U team. Brecken Bruns went 2-for-3 with a triple, three runs and a team-high six RBIs, while Bennett Law went 2-for-3 with a double, a triple and three RBIs. Brayson Bouland went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Landon Johnson went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored in the win. Garrett Miller and Gwen Good each added one RBI for the 561 Sluggers during the game.

Sunday’s action began with Rochelle defeating the Aurora Starz 11U team 10-4. Bennett Law and Cody Cox each went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, while Garrett Miller and Roberto Bugarin each finished with one hit and one RBI in the win. Brecken Bruns totaled one run and one RBI.

The 561 Sluggers clinched the championship with a 14-2 win in a rematch against the Woodstock Heat 11U team. Brayson Bouland went 2-for-3 with two singles and two RBIs, while Roberto Bugarin went 2-for-2 and Bentley Etes scored two runs. Brecken Bruns singled and recorded two RBIs for the 561 Sluggers, who tallied eight runs in the second inning. Cooper Harris collected one RBI and Bennett Law pitched three innings with two strikeouts.
