The Rochelle Rampage 13U baseball team went 4-0 over four games to win the 2024 Feed the Need Tournament at the HCC Complex from June 8-9. Rochelle won two games on Saturday, June 8 before collecting two more victories on Sunday, June 9.

Rochelle finishes 4-0 over four games in two-day tournament

MACHESNEY PARK — The Rochelle Rampage 13U baseball team went 4-0 over four games to win the 2024 Feed the Need Tournament at the HCC Complex from June 8-9. Rochelle won two games on Saturday, June 8 before collecting two more victories on Sunday, June 9.

The Rampage teed off the tournament with a 15-4 win over the HBC 13U team. Elijah Good went 3-for-4 with three singles and two RBIs, while Joey Chadwick doubled and totaled three RBIs. Jasper Macklin went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs for the Rochelle offense, which also saw Nolan Zick finish 2-for-4 with one RBI. Sebastian Albertson, Kolton Cragin, Landin Schmidt and Edwin Cervantes each finished with one RBI to aid the Rampage in the win.

Rochelle continued action on Saturday with a 9-8 win over the Panther Club 13U team. Edwin Cervantes went 3-for-3 with three singles and two RBIs, while Kolton Cragin went 2-for-3 with two singles and two RBIs. Landin Schmidt doubled and recorded two RBIs for the Rampage, who also saw Jasper Macklin finish 2-for-3 with two singles and one RBI in the victory.

Rochelle returned on Sunday and scored an 11-2 victory over the Stix-Fissell 13U squad. Gabe Bybee went 2-for-2 with two singles and two RBIs, while Landin Schmidt and Riley Smith each added one hit and two RBIs in the win. Sebastian Albertson went 2-for-4 with two singles and one RBI for the Rampage, who saw Axel Alsop, Edwin Cervantes and Jasper Macklin add RBIs.

Rochelle clinched the championship with an 11-10 victory in a rematch against the HBC 13U team. Joey Chadwick doubled and recorded three RBIs, while Nolan Zick went 3-for-4 with three singles and three runs scored. Sebastian Albertson singled and collected two RBIs for the Rampage, who scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to win the game. Gabe Bybee scored two runs and Jasper Macklin singled and recorded one RBI for Rochelle in the win.
