DEKALB — The Rochelle Hub varsity bowling team competed in its final Interstate 8 Conference dual meet of the season on Wednesday. Senior Sam Tracey rolled a team-high 632 series, while senior Jonathan Alanis added a 560 series as the Hubs took down the Kaneland Knights 3,308-3,134 at Mardi Gras Lanes. Rochelle (10-6, 5-3 Interstate 8) will host Geneseo for its Senior Night match on Thursday.
Rochelle held the series lead after an 1,135-1,061 win in the first game of the match. Tracey led the Hubs with a 223 and junior Logan Frye followed with a 195. Alanis rolled a 191 and sophomore Levi Waddle added a 182 for the Hubs, who conceded the second game 1,086-991 to fall behind in the overall series score.
Rochelle saved its best effort for last, however, rolling over the Knights 1,182-987 to clinch the third game and the series victory. Tracey spearheaded the charge with a series-best 234, while sophomore Andrew Powell fired a series-best 232 to conclude the match with a 539 series. Waddle scored a series-best 192 for a 530 series and Frye totaled a 188 to bow out with a 541 series in the match.
