ROCHELLE — By all accounts, this year’s Kiwanis Golden K Pancake Day is going in the books as one of the busiest the club has ever produced.
Club president Al Hann said the attendance numbered between 500 and 600 people. There was a steady stream of guests for most of the day, with 8 a.m. to 12 noon garnering nearly a packed Hicks Hall.
The annual club fundraiser is held in Hicks Hall at the Rochelle United Methodist Church. Proceeds benefit more than 20 local youth organizations in Rochelle and the surrounding community. This past Saturday’s breakfast is one of three annual fundraisers for the club, along with Chili Day and Peanut Day.
