ROCHELLE — Employees at CHS in Rochelle presented donations to Kings and Eswood schools recently with funds raised through the company’s annual charity golf outing.
The elementary teachers in the schools, along with the Steward and Creston schools each received $5,500 to be used to supplement educational school supplies in the classrooms.
CHS human resources coordinator Lynn Smith said the company chose to support the schools knowing the teachers often spend their own money to purchase educational supplies. The money will be split between the kindergarten through eighth grade music, art and PE classes.
“Most of the corn CHS Rochelle uses to make its ethanol comes from farmers in these four rural areas,” Smith added.
