FRANKLIN GROVE — Dolores J Reitz, 86, of Franklin Grove, passed away on Dec. 5, 2018 at OSF St. Anthony’s Hospital in Rockford. She was born on April 6, 1932 to Clarence and Gladys (Brummer) Reitz in Ashton.

She was baptized on July 17, 1932 in St. John’s Lutheran Church. She graduated from Ashton High School and attended KSB School of Nursing and graduated in 1953.

As the Ashton nurse she loved unconditionally giving treatment to all, delivered medication to those in need, always warm hearted to those in need, always the caregiver. Later in life when she retired, she struggled, not being able to care for others. Dolores was a true example of a “faithful servant” of the Lord. If someone needed help, she would do what she could. She was a lifelong resident of Ashton.

She is survived by her nephew, Steve Reita of Rochelle; great-nieces Brittany and Aubrey; and sister-in-law, Hazel Reitz of Hayward, Wisconsin. 

She loved her family, friends and Godchildren unconditionally.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Bill Reitz.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 11 from 9 to 11 a.m. at St John’s Lutheran Church with the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jessica Bakken officiating,  burial will follow at the Ashton Cemetery.
