ROCHELLE – The Downtown Rochelle Association in partnership with the Flagg Township Museum wants to take a “snapshot” of the local businesses and collect a bit of history at the same time. Starting on Sept. 5 and on every Thursday and Friday from 1-2 p.m. staff from the museum will be taking “snapshots” of local businesses and the people involved and collecting business histories. Any business that would like to schedule a specific time for their “snapshot” can contact the museum at 815 562-3040 or hubhistory@gmail.com.

A form for capturing the history of the local businesses is also part of the project and can be found at the museum’s website, www.flaggtownshipmuseumrochelle.org by scrolling down the home page to the link under Taking Snapshots. In addition, any business owner who would like the information emailed can send a request to hubhistory@gmail.com. It is the goal of the Downtown Rochelle Association and the Flagg Township Museum to document the local business scene that is thriving today before it changes or is lost.

The mission of the Flagg Township Historical Society and Museum is to stimulate interest in Flagg Township history through education, research, collection and preservation of information for the benefit of the public of today and in the future.
