Kinzinger may have other agenda

Dear Editor,
The column on the Jan. 31, 2021, “Committed to Constitution First” describes how, in the author’s opinion, U.S. Representative Adam Kinzinger, Illinois Republican, put the country ahead of party by criticizing President Trump. Representative Kinzinger has been a critic of President Trump for several years. Let’s look at some of Trump’s accomplishments over the past four years that have been good for the country:
• Built the world’s most prosperous economy prior to the China Virus
• Record low unemployment levels for minorities and women
• Brought jobs, factories and industries back to the USA
• Tax relief for the middle class
• Massive deregulation of unnecessary regulations
• Secured historic trade deals to defend American workers
• Historic support for American farmers

• Fostered American energy independence
• Stock market and 401K’s hit record numbers
• Pushed rapid development of China virus vaccine
• Expanded healthcare choices and affordability
• Appointed an historic number of federal judges who will interpret the Constitution as written
• Greatly reduce illegal immigration though the borders
• Colossal rebuilding of the military
• Fostered peace in the Middle East (four Nobel Peace Prize nominations)
• Reformed the Veterans Administration
• Unprecedented support for law-enforcement
• Expanded education opportunity
Mr. Kinzinger’s constant criticism of President Trump suggests that he is critical of Trump’s accomplishments which one can argue are good for the country. This is evidence that Mr. Kinzinger may have some other agenda such a running for a higher office. Republicans often make the mistake of criticizing members of their own party to ingratiate themselves with the media that often leans Democrat. This gives them a spotlight but when they praise their own, they are often criticized or ignored by the media. It should be noted that Democrat politicians rarely criticize members of their own party, or if they do, it is usually not reported.
No doubt Mr. Kinzinger’s criticisms have contributed to the loss of the White House and Senate for the Republicans. This has unleashed an administration on the country that in less than two weeks has closed the Keystone XL pipe line (several thousand jobs lost, not good for the country), stopped all southern border wall construction (jobs lost, security compromised, not good for the country) and restored several unnecessary regulations (possibly including The Waters of the U.S. rule that requires a permit to fill a pot hole in your driveway, not good for the country).
Thank you Representative Kinzinger!
