ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Kiwanis Golden K will be hosting its popular Chili Day on Saturday, Nov. 16 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Rochelle Methodist Church Hicks Hall.
The $7 meal includes all you can eat chili, along with bread, fruit, cake, punch, milk and coffee. As a bonus, children 10 and under eat free of charge. Carryouts are available.
Golden K member Hugh McDermitt said close to 100 gallons of chili will be prepared, all homemade by a group of the club’s members.
“It's a great meal for a great price and as a bonus children 10 and under eat free,” McDermitt exclaimed. “We encourage everyone to come for the meal and help support many things we do for the community.”
Chili Day, along with Pancake Day and Peanut Day, are annual fundraisers that Kiwanis Golden K offers to benefit the Rochelle community. All monies collected through club fundraising is returned back to over 20 various organizations including Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, HOPE of Ogle County, Hub City Senior Center and the Rochelle Township High School Key Club and scholarships.
