STEWARD — Several students at Steward Elementary School were acknowledged last week for improving their grades during the most recent grading period. The Kiwanis Golden K sponsors the “Bringing Up Grades” (BUGS) program in local elementary schools, usually one class at a time. The 48 students were honored with a certificate of achievement, a gold one-dollar coin and refreshments of ice cream and juice. Guest speaker Don Romes discussed the importance of working hard in school.
