ROCHELLE — There will be plenty of fun Tuesday to celebrate the Fourth of July in the “Hub City” — including a parade in the morning and activities at Cooper and Atwood parks later in the day and evening.
The parade will kick-off in downtown Rochelle at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
The route begin at Sixth Street and Fifth Avenue, turn right on Lincoln Highway, right on Lincoln Avenue, right on Ninth Street, left on 10th Avenue to Cooper Park.
At 2 p.m., Rochelle Moose Family Center, Jason Zies and his committee, will be serving pork chops in the parking lot south of the lodge building at Main Street and Cherry Ave. All proceeds will go toward the Special Olympics.
Later in the day, the fun will continue at the park. There will be two food vendors - Oasis Mexican Food and Ralfies BBQ — starting at 6 p.m. and then the Rochelle Municipal Band will perform before the fireworks begin.
