The Rochelle Area Track Club held the 44th Annual RATC Invitational at Rochelle Township High School on Saturday. Nine clubs including the Elgin Sharks Track Club, Peoria Inner City Track Club, Pinon Track Club Elite, Project Sprint, Rush Athletics USA, Sauganash Striders and the Madison Elite Track Club participated in Saturday’s meet. Below are the final results for the Rochelle athletes in each of the age and gender divisions.

5-8 Boys

Carson Barnes and Lyric Pointer finished first and second in the 100-meter dash with times of 19.00 and 20.77 seconds. Landric Messer and Creed Manning took first and second in the 200-meter dash with times of 45.34 and 59.95 seconds. Elias Bergeson finished first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:43.25 and Rochelle’s 400-meter relay team (Carson Barnes, Landric Messer, Elias Bergeson and Creed Manning) finished first with a time of 1:29.48. 

Landric Messer took first in the javelin throw with a distance of 11.48 meters, while Lyric Pointer and Creed Manning took second and third with distances of 8.56 and 5.03 meters. Carson Barnes finished first in the long jump with a mark of 2.70 meters, Lyric Pointer finished second with a mark of 2.38 meters and Elias Bergeson finished third with a mark of 2.07 meters.

5-8 Girls

Josie Messer took first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 21.29 seconds and the 200-meter dash with a time of 49.52 seconds. Eva Rosales finished second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 59.47 seconds and Clara Rowley finished first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:56.92. In the field events, Eva Rosales took first in the shot put with a mark of 1.59 meters and Clara Rowley won both the javelin throw (5.39 meters) and the long jump (2.03 meters).

9-10 Boys

Eddie Durand finished second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 17.29 seconds and Tate Bigelow finished second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 31.37 seconds. Chase Marruffo took first in the 1500-meter run with a time of 6:56.51 and Rochelle’s 400-meter relay team (Tate Bigelow, Eddie Durand, Chase Marruffo and Caleb Johnson) won with a time of 1:10.76.

Chase Marruffo and Caleb Johnson went first and second in the shot put with marks of 5.15 and 4.61 meters. Eddie Durand won the javelin with a mark of 15.02 meters, while Tate Bigelow and Caleb Johnson went first and second in the long jump with marks of 4.07 and 2.37 meters.

9-10 Girls

Cora Mickley finished first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 37.77 seconds. Mickley also finished first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:28.38.

11-12 Boys

Hakeem Olaniran finished second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 16.38 seconds and second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 35.06 seconds. Leo Koziol took third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 18.74 seconds and Grant Rowley took third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 39.15 seconds. Zachary Waddle won two field events, finishing first in the shot put with a mark of 6.99 meters and first in the discus throw with a mark of 15.81 meters.

Grant Rowley took first in the javelin throw with a mark of 13.79 meters and third in the shot put with a mark of 4.89 meters. Bryce Nichols finished first in the long jump with a mark of 1.87 meters and second in the javelin throw with a mark of 7.97 meters. Leo Koziol finished third in the javelin throw with a mark of 6.24 meters and Hakeem Olaniran finished third in the discus throw with a mark of 13.08 meters.

11-12 Girls

Lauren Westgerdes and Sofia Rosales took second and third in the 100-meter dash with times of 16.85 and 17.00 seconds. Rosales finished second in the 800-meter run with a time of 3;56.00 and Arabella Marruffo finished first in the 1500-meter run with a time of 6:59.71. 

Cora Mickley and Arabella Marruffo went first and second in the long jump with marks of 2.65 and 2.37 meters. Sofia Rosales won the shot put with a mark of 6.11 meters.

13-14 Boys

Reed Rowley finished first in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:53.00 and third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:14.41. Rowley also took second in the high jump with a height of 1.19 meters and second in the long jump with a mark of 4.97 meters.

13-14 Girls

Nicolette Koziol finished fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 18.54 seconds and Carol Carpenter finished first in the 1500-meter run with a time of 5:55.44. Carpenter also took first in the 100-meter hurdles (21.71 seconds) and the 200-meter hurdles (37.11 seconds).

Morgan DeLille and Carol Carpenter tied for second in the long jump with a mark of 3.68 meters. DeLille also took second in the triple jump with a mark of 7.75 meters.

15-16 Boys

Owen Wyssbrod took fourth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 30.20, fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:47.84 and second in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 24.64 seconds. Levi Waddle took first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:02.17 and Tyler Johnson took third in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:46.81. Hunter Bivins finished first in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 19.14 seconds and first in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:06.35.

Rochelle’s 3200-meter relay team (Hunter Bivins, Levi Waddle, Edward Koziol and Tyler Johnson) finished first with a time of 10:26.53. Tyler Johnson took first in the javelin throw with a mark of 15.44 meters and second in the long jump with a mark of 4.89 meters. Owen Wyssbrod took fifth in the high jump with a mark of 1.29 meters. Levi Waddle finished third in the pole vault with a clearance of 2.13 meters.

15-16 Girls

Jaicee Ramos finished third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 32.07 seconds and Vivian Worthington finished third in the 1500-meter run with a time of 6:49.47. Jasmine Walsh and Samantha Overton went first and third in the 100-meter hurdles with times of 19.02 and 23.04.

Abby Losoya took second in the shot put with marks of 6.37 meters and Samantha Overton took second in the pole vault with a clearance of 1.08 meters. Jaicee Ramos finished second in the long jump with a mark of 3.31 meters.

17-18 Boys

Nolan Johnson finished third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.96 seconds and fifth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.20 seconds. Jack Tarvestad took first in the discus with a mark of 33.82 meters and Nolan Johnson took first in the javelin with a mark of 30.75 meters. Johnson also finished second in the triple jump with a distance of 11.25 meters.

17-18 Girls

Rose Luxton took second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:49.57. Luxton also finished first in the javelin throw with a mark of 14.45 meters and second in the long jump with a mark of 4.82 meters.
