On May 4 at approximately 4:06 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 8000 block of N. River Drive in reference to a property damage crash. After investigation, deputies placed Gilbert Anderson, 76, of Byron, under arrest for driving while license revoked. Anderson was also issued a citation for improper lane usage. Anderson was transported to the Ogle County Sheriff’s Department and held in lieu of bond.
May 5
On May 5, the following people were arrested for outstanding Ogle County warrants:
Nore Hatfield, 54, of Mount Morris, for bad checks. Hatfield posted the $3,000/10 percent bond and was released from the Ogle County Jail. Hatfield will appear in court on May 29.
Michelle Donoho, 23, of Dixon, for failure to appear. Donoho posted the $218 full cash bond and was released from the Ogle County Jail with no further court date.
On May 5 at approximately 6:13 p.m., deputies responded to a single vehicle motorcycle accident in the 17000 block of West Illinois Route 52. It was determined that a southbound motorcycle being driven by Mike Elvin, 55, of Ashton, traveled off the west edge of the roadway. The motorcycle then overturned multiple times before coming to rest in the west ditch embankment. Mike Elvin and a passenger on the motorcycle, Carla Elvin, 44, of Ashton, also fell from the motorcycle as it overturned. Mike was transported to KSB Hospital by Polo EMS for treatment of injuries. Carla was also transported to KSB Hospital by Polo EMS where she was then flown by helicopter to Mercy Hospital for treatment of her injuries. After an investigation into the accident, Mike was placed under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol. Mike was also cited for improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Deputies were assisted at the scene by Polo Fire/EMS, Lanark Police, and the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.
