ROCHELLE – Paintbrushes, glue and paper are typical supplies found in an art classroom. This past week, the art classroom in summer HUB looked more like a recycling center than an art room.
A small group of students worked with miscellaneous objects to create a robot. While they had creative freedom to design and craft their robots, art teacher Nan Elson instructed that the robots must be able to help people.
Armed with supplies such as aluminum cans, cups, plates, balls and Christmas décor the students then had freedom to design. No robot looked the same and each student dreamed what their robot could accomplish to make their lives a little easier.
