Director's severance agreement to be voted on at special park board meeting

Posted

ROCHELLE — The Flagg-Rochelle Community Park District has announced it will be holding a special meeting this Friday afternoon at 5 p.m. in the Rochelle City Hall council chambers with several topics on the agenda, including the discussion and possible approval of a severance agreement with park director Roger Bunger.

Bunger was not present at the regular park district meeting in March and apparently has not been working in the office for the past several weeks. Neither park board members nor Bunger have publicly commented on his absence since that meeting on March 19.

Bunger, who previously served as a park board commissioner for nearly 10 years, stepped off the board in the fall of 2016 to take over as executive director.

Other business

In other business on Friday, park commissioners are expected to discuss and possibly approve an amended intergovernmental agreement with the Rochelle Elementary School District, discuss and possibly approve a Skare Park Mitigation Deed Restriction with Land and Water, Inc., and approve changes to the signature card with Central Bank.

According to the agenda, the discussion and any action on the Rochelle Elementary School agreement will be held in open session prior the board adjourning into closed session to discuss the other items at hand. Following the closed session, the commissioners will reconvene in open session to vote publicly on any action.
