Facade facelift pays off

ROCHELLE – The City of Rochelle presented Edward Jones Investments at 326 Lincoln Highway with a check Tuesday morning as part of the city’s Façade Improvement Program.
The city’s Façade Improvement Program provides a 50/50 matching grant with a maximum of $5,000 to downtown businesses or building owners who complete eligible improvements to the facades of their buildings. The grants are offered on a first-come first-serve basis.
The $4,280 check presented on Tuesday was given to John O’Brien, the owner of the building, as a reimbursement for half of the project that he funded entirely.
“The building needed good improvements and this is a great opportunity. It was a very generous donation from the city that we had to take advantage of,” said Edward Jones financial advisor Anthony Rowley.

Both Edward Jones and its employees are very thankful of the city providing them with this opportunity to improve the appearance of their building.
Along with helping the community with financial advice, Edward Jones is also one of many locations participating in the Toys for Tots Drive.
“Our business is also a drop-off location for the Toys for Tots drive that provides new toys to kids within Rochelle and Ogle County,” added Rowley.
People can donate any toy that is un opened from now until the middle of December.
