ROCHELLE — A Tinley Park man passed away after a Tuesday night two-vehicle accident on Interstate 88 at westbound milepost 81 in Ogle County, an Illinois State Police District 15 press release said.
At approximately 8:40 p.m. Anthony Moody, 71, of Tinley Park was driving a 2022 black Nissan traveling west and slowed to a stop in the roadway for unknown reasons. The front end of a 2015 white Kenworth truck tractor with double trailer driven by Frank Hightower, 53, of Rockford then struck the back of the Nissan.
Moody was transported by ambulance to an area hospital and was pronounced deceased. Hightower reported no injuries. All lanes of Interstate 88 westbound near milepost 81 were closed for the investigation and all lanes were reopened at approximately 11:50 p.m. There was no further information available at the time of the Wednesday press release.
