Five taken to hospital following accident on Sunday afternoon

On Oct. 10 at approximately 6:44 p.m., deputies responded to a one vehicle accident at the intersection of West Pines Road and South Evergreen Road. After investigation, deputies arrested Michael Poff, 49, of Polo, for driving while under the influence of alcohol. Poff was also issued a citation for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Poff was transported to KSB Hospital where he was treated for non life threatening injuries. Poff was given an I-bond with a return court date later next month. Ogle County was assisted by Polo EMS along with Polo Police Department.
On Oct. 11 at 2:37 p.m. the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office and Lynn-Scott-Rock Fire Department were dispatched to a two vehicle crash at Illinois Route 251 and Illinois Route 64 intersection. Investigation by deputies revealed that a Nissan SUV driven by Diana Lantz, 54, of Carol Stream, was traveling west on Illinois Route 64 and failed to stop for the stop sign at the Illinois Route 251 intersection. As a result, the Nissan struck a Buick in the intersection which was traveling south on Illinois Route 251. The driver of the Buick, Samantha Metzger, 26, of Rochelle, and her three passengers were transported by ambulance to the Rochelle Community Hospital. Lantz was also transported by ambulance to the Rochelle Community Hospital. All of the injuries appeared to be non life threatening. Lantz was cited for disobeying a stop sign. The Illinois State Police and Rochelle Fire Department assisted at the scene.
On Oct. 11 at approximately 1:40 a.m., deputies responded to the 700 block of Golden Prairie Drive in reference to a disturbance. After investigation, deputies arrested Michael Dixon, 21, of Davis Junction, for domestic battery. Dixon was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released to correctional staff and held in lieu of bond.
