Man arrested for DUI, among several citations

On April 12 at approximately 11:23 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle in rural Lindenwood. Pursuant to the stop, Dustin Cole, 33, Monroe Center, was arrested for DUI, reckless driving, speeding, failure to signal a turn, illegal squealing of tires, no proof of insurance and illegal transportation of alcohol. Cole was confined at the Ogle County Jail in lieu of bond.
On April 12, Jonathan Early, 24, of Davis Junction, was arrested for failure to appear. Early has a bond of $2,516. He was held in the Ogle County Jail and scheduled to appear in court April 13.

On April 12 at approximately 7:50 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the intersection of IL Route 52 and Freeport Rd. in reference to two-vehicle accident involving an injury. Deputies learned that a 2013 Freightliner semi with a loaded tractor trailer with sand driven by Dale Schindler, 56, of Earlville, Iowa, was traveling westbound on IL Route 52 approaching the Freeport Rd. intersection. A 2012 Nissan Altima traveling northbound and driven by Nicole Stamper, 19, of Belvidere, was stopped at the stop sign on Freeport Rd. at the intersection before pulling out in front of the semi who had the right of way and didn’t have to stop at the intersection. The semi then struck the Nissan on the passenger side of the vehicle causing heavy damage to both vehicles. Stamper was treated by Polo EMS and Fire at the scene before being transported to by REACT helicopter to Mercy Hospital. Deputies later learned Stamper sustained non-life threatening injuries. Stamper was issued a citation for Failure to Yield.
On April 13, Luke Swan, 51, of Rochelle, was arrested for failure to appear. Swan has a bond of $561 and will appear in court on April 17. Swan remains in the Ogle County jail.
On April 14, Ogle County deputies investigated a one vehicle crash that occurred in the 8000 block of N. Barker Rd., Byron. As a result of the investigation Julie Dzielak, of Rockford, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. She was issued two other traffic citations and one civil citation for possession of cannabis under 10 grams. There were no injuries as a result of the crash. Dzielak was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.
On April 15 at approximately 11:40 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call at 5823 Bradley Rd., Stillman Valley. After an investigation, deputies arrested Taylor Young, 20, of 700 E. Washington, Oregon, on a warrant for criminal damage to property. Young was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.
