Masons present check to Pegasus Special Riders

ROCHELLE — Known for their generosity in the community, the Rochelle Masonic Lodge presented a check to Darah Bridgeman, Executive Director, Pegasus Special Riders.

At Pegasus Special Riders, dedicated and caring volunteers provide the best possible equine-assisted therapies to those that are in need. Like many other not-for-profit organizations that help so many people, at times those very organizations need help too.

Bridgeman said the donation is going to help purchase an accessory useful for baling hay.

“Currently we are working towards purchasing an accumagrapple, which will help our property manager do the job that would take several people to do,” she said. “We can use it to pickup the bales and place them on the hay rack. In the past the bales have sat outside too long, and we found we couldn’t use them. This will cut down on waste too.”

Presenting the check is John Bearrows, third generation member of the Lodge.

“The Masonic Lodge, along with the Shriner’s Hospitals for Children, gratefully supports the efforts of Pegasus in helping children and adults with disabilities,” said Bud Norcross, Lodge Secretary.
