On Nov. 7 at 11:42 a.m., the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, Forreston Police Department, Forreston Fire Department and the Forreston Ambulance responded to a one-vehicle rollover accident in the 12000 block of North IL Route 26. A black Jeep Cherokee driven by James E. Metzger, 72, of Forreston, was northbound on IL Route 26 when his vehicle left the right side of the road. The vehicle travelled several hundred feet in the ditch before coming back on the road and rolling over several times. The vehicle came to a rest in a field on the west side of the road facing south. Metzger was transported to Freeport Memorial Hospital with minor injuries by the Forreston Ambulance. The incident remains under investigation.
