CRESTON — A salon in Creston is going to the dogs for a good cause on Saturday, June 3.
The third annual “Help the Homeless (Pets),” presented by Panache Salon and Day Spa will feature many ways the community can help support homeless animals including dog adoptions.
The event will be held from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the salon located at 101 Main St. in Creston. Along with adoption services, there will also be a silent auction, bake sale items, and dog treats. Pet owners are welcome to bring their furry friends as nail trims and microchip services will be available.
Salon owner and event organizer Beth Burlison said 100 percent of money raised will go to animal shelters. She also explained the reason she conducts the fundraiser.
“I’m a huge animal lover and my daughters and I volunteer at [an animal shelter],” Burlison said. “We just want to do something to raise money for the shelters and raise awareness and hopefully get some animals adopted.”
