Rochelle's Anderson on European jobs mission trip with Gov. Rauner

ROCHELLE — Jason Anderson, Economic Development Director for Rochelle, is on a weeklong jobs mission trip in Europe with Gov. Bruce Rauner.

Anderson joins several members of Team Illinois, which plan to attend over 20 meetings covering over 1,600 miles.

“With over 1,800 foreign owned companies in Illinois generating $100 billion in FDI, Foreign Direct Investment continues to be a focus for Team Illinois,” as stated in a press release from Intersect Illinois. “Marketing Illinois as a global hub for business to international job creators will bring new opportunities to forge partnerships and advance the state’s economic growth.  With the superior access to international travel as well as Illinois’ talented workforce, we are excited to bring this message across the globe.”

The trip is Gov. Rauner’s first European trip as Governor, attending with leaders in education, business, and government. The group will have a brief stop in Poland before continuing to Germany.

The trip also includes visits to companies with existing facilities in the state, along with announcements of new operations, culminating with a visit to the world’s largest manufacturing trade show, Hannover Messe. There the team will meet with several Illinois-based exhibitors. The trades show features over 6,500 exhibitors from 70+ countries and hundreds of thousands of visitors.
