ROCHELLE — Angela “Angie” Lee Hansen, 55, of Rochelle, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 16, 2021 at UW Health Swedish American Hospital in Rockford. Angie was born on April 12, 1966, in Rochelle, the daughter of Arthur “Bud” and Verda Owdia (McClure) Brannon. She married Glenn Douglas Hansen on Aug. 23, 1986 in Creston. Angela is preceded in death by her father, Arthur Brannon, step-father, Paul Crum and her father-in-law, Donald J. Hansen.

She graduated from Rochelle Township High School in 1984 and attended Kishwaukee Community College.

Angie had her own daycare business for many years and later worked at Rochelle Township High School. She had been working at Benny's gas station in Rochelle since their establishment.

Angie devoted her life to her family, children and especially her grandchildren. Angie would never miss the opportunities to see their sporting events, school functions, playing board games with them and taking them to the movies. She enjoyed reading, cooking and absolutely loved to travel with her family and many friends and was always up for a road trip. Angie always had the biggest smile, warmest heart and a contagious laugh. She devoted her life to Christ and was a member of First Baptist of Rochelle.

Angie is survived by her husband, Glenn; three children: Ashley (Chad) Simms of Rochelle, Adam (Amy) Hansen of Winnebago and Nolan (Mya Latta) Hansen of Rochelle; two grandchildren: Aubry and Eve Simms and an expectant grandson to be born, Kamdyn Hansen; four step-grandchildren: Alexandria (Cody) Eschen, Bryan Lischka, Rylee Smith, and Preston Smith; mother, Verda Owdia Crum of Rochelle; sister, Jennifer (Brian) Elder of Rochelle, brother, Russell (Karen) Brannon of Billings, Montana; mother-in-law, Arlene Hansen of Rochelle; step-sisters: Sherry (Tom) Balcer of Florida, Sheila Rojek of Tennessee, step-brothers: Mike (Bonita) Crum of Tennessee and Joe Crum of Tennessee. She also had many other brother and sisters-in-law, aunts and uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.

Visitation services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 22 from 5-7 p.m. at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, Dec. 23 at 10 a.m. at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle, with Pastor Doug Cowan officiating.
