PERU — The Rochelle Hub varsity bowling team finished fifth out of five schools in the Interstate 8 Conference Championship meet at the Illinois Valley Super Bowl on Tuesday. Rochelle scored 5,209 pins over six games, with senior Sergio Guevara rolling a team-high 1,064 series to take 15th place.
Kaneland
The Rochelle Hub varsity bowling team faced Kaneland in a rescheduled road matchup Wednesday afternoon, winning 3,132-2,875 to conclude the regular season with a victory. Senior Devansh Patel fired a team-high 580 series for the Hubs (3-12, 2-6 Interstate 8).
Rochelle edged out Kaneland by five pins in the first game, winning 992-987 behind senior Max Orlikowski’s 212 and sophomore Christian Thorne’s 178. Corbin Vines rolled 224 to lead the Knights in the first game, while Dylan Conklin added 194 and Lucas Johnson totaled 179.
The Hubs cruised over the Knights 1,032-898 in the second game, with sophomore Jonathan Alanis firing 191 and Patel shooting 186. Senior Sergio Guevara added 181 in the second game.
Rochelle completed the sweep with a 1,108-990 victory in the third game. Patel scored 227 to lead the way for the Hubs, while Thorne followed with 197 to end the day with a 529 series. Orlikowski rolled 191 to finish with a 553 series for Rochelle.
