ROCHELLE — The Rochelle varsity boys tennis team hosted LaSalle-Peru on Thursday, with the Hubs falling 5-0 to remain winless on the season. Rochelle moved to 0-11 overall.
Junior Sean Flanagan fought back in the second set against Joey Barroso at No. 1 singles, losing by a score of 2-6, 6-7. Freshman Jason Zheng won the first set over Joe Pohar at No. 2 singles before dropping the next two to fall 7-6(3), 3-6, 5-10.
Seniors Hector Garcia and Emilio Nava took three games in both sets of their 3-6, 3-6 loss to Noah Konczak and Alex Newman at No. 1 doubles. Seniors Diego Lopez and Alex Galambos fell 0-6, 3-6 to Josh Pioch and Marcelo Soto at No. 2 doubles, while senior Caden Manning and junior Gabe Nava dropped a close second set to lose 0-6, 6-7 to Ray Reed and Dom Gruenwald at No. 3 doubles.
