ROCHELLE —Bradley John Young, 52, suddenly passed away at his home Sept. 27, 2020. Brad was born July 14, 1968 in Rochelle to Bob and Shirley (Stein) Young.
Brad graduated from Rochelle Township High School in 1986 and immediately enlisted in the Navy. He was a machinist mate and, after suffering a terrible accident aboard his ship, was honorably discharged in 1991.
During his high school years, he was on the track team. After school, he would help his dad and older brother with the family printing business.
Brad held a variety of jobs through the years, most notably as a roofer and handyman. He took pride in his work and was always eager to help when asked.
Brad is survived by two children, Eric Robert and Noah Andrew; Tyler Ewald, who was like a son to him; four siblings, Cheryl (Alan) Alliston, Lori (Ron) Peterson, Greg (Susan) Young and Jeff (Joe) Young; nieces and nephews, Quinn Peterson, Cody Peterson, Katelynn (Charlie) Crum, Kersta (Adam) Baker, Teigan Young and MeLisa Young.
Brad is preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation care has been provided by the Unger-Horner Funeral Home. A private family memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 11 at the First Presbyterian Church of Rochelle with Pastor Cary Winn officiating.
