Car rolls in two-vehicle crash

On April 3 at 7:53 a.m., the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, Leaf River Fire Department and Leaf River Ambulance responded to a two-vehicle roll-over accident in the 8000 block of N. Pecatonica Road. A semi tractor trailer combination was northbound on Pecatonica Road from Leaf River followed by a Buick Enclave. The semi tractor trailer combination slowed to make a left turn into a parking lot when the Buick attempted to pass the semi tractor trailer combination on the left. The semi tractor trailer struck the Buick on the passenger side causing the Buick to roll over into the west side ditch and strike a utility pole before coming to a stop on its side. The driver of the Buick, Diane Hemmersbach, 51, of Leaf River, was extricated from the vehicle by the Leaf River Fire Department. She refused medical treatment and was released at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
April 1
On April 1 the following people were arrested on outstanding Ogle County warrants:
Blake Bakkala, 19, of Machesney Park, for failure to appear. Bakkala posted the $50 full cash bond and was released from the Ogle County Jail with a return court date of April 29.
Norma Delgado, 39, of Rockford, for driving while license suspended. Delgado posted the $3,000/10 percent bond and was released from the Ogle County Jail with a return court date of April 26.
On April 1 at approximately 8:13 p.m., deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 2000 block of North Freeport Road. After further investigation Akin Rasa, 43, of Ottumwa, Iowa, was placed under arrested for driving while license suspended and no valid driver’s license. Rasa was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
On April 1 at approximately 3:59 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies, along with the Mt. Morris Police Department and Mt. Morris Fire and EMS responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 4000 block of West Illinois Route 64. After an investigation it was learned that Hannah M Repass, 19, of Mt. Morris, struck the rear of the vehicle that was in front of her. Repass refused all medical treatment and her vehicle was removed from the scene by Blake’s Towing. The second vehicle was driven by Connie L. Blake, 69, of Mt. Morris. Blake was transported to Rockford Memorial by Mt. Morris EMS for minor injuries.
On April 1 at approximately 11:48 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 4000 block of South Illinois Route 26 on a gray Jeep. After an investigation Shawn McCarty, 42, of Urbana, was arrested for driving on a revoked license and speeding. McCarty was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
April 3
On April 3, the following people were arrested for Ogle County outstanding warrants:
Ramiro Avila, 21, of Rochelle, for failure to appear. Avila had a bond of $396 and Avila did post his bond and was released from the Ogle County Jail and will no have to return for court.
Kyle Lowe, 30, of Oregon, for failure to appear. Lowe had a bond of $1,292.74. Lowe did not post bond and will return to court on April 5. Lowe remains in the Ogle County jail.
Aaron Clark, 40, of Hinckley, for probation violation and failure to appear. Hinckley had a bond of $3,000/10 percent and $1,177. Hinckley received a recognizance bond of $3,000 for probation violation warrant. Hinckley received a bond reduction for his failure to appear warrant. Hinckley’s bond is $175 and he remains in the Ogle County Jail.
