CRESTON — Village of Creston officials set trick-or-treating hours for Halloween during the October board meeting at Creston Village Hall on Tuesday.
Trick-or-treating will take place from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31. Village trustees recommended that those handing out candy or participating in Halloween activities practice social distancing and wear masks due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
“We need to reiterate all safety aspects,” Village President Wayne Williams said.

Village trustees discussed ideas to honor former village president William Heal during Tuesday’s board meeting. A founding member of the Creston Booster Club, Heal passed away in April at the age of 93. Heal served as village president from 1982-2007.
Some ideas include hanging a plaque inside Village Hall and putting a bench in the Creston Booster Park. Village Trustee Tom Byro will continue leading discussions with the Heal family.
