ASHTON — Dale Wayne Allen, 79, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2020 at KSB Hospital in Dixon. He was born on Feb. 10, 1941 in Rochelle, the son of Blaine and Gladys (Ross) Allen. Dale married Mary Louise Butler on June 16, 1963 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ashton.
Farming was his passion and lifetime occupation. He continued to help his son-in law and grandson on the family farm after his retirement in 2018. Dale also repaired boat props at the Prop Shop in Dixon for several years. In his later years, he filled the role of Supervisor of Reynolds Township.
As a born again Christian, he served in leadership positions in various churches. He currently attended United First Church of Amboy.
Dale loved flying as a private pilot, and fishing, especially the annual Minnesota trips with his wife, family and friends. He adored spending time with his family and brought much laughter and joy to family gatherings. He will be greatly missed by them all.
He is preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter, Jodie Lynne.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; daughters, Jill (Craig) Doubet of Towanda, Ill., and Stacy (Mark) LeFevre of Ashton; six grandchildren, Michael (Amber) LeFevre, Christopher LeFevre, Lisa (Steven) Apple, Andrew (Andrea) LeFevre, Caleb Hopkins, and Joshua (ReAnna) Hopkins; four great-grandchildren, Ella, Savannah, Bryar and Emry; brother, Lyle (Ruth) Allen of Ashton; and many nieces and nephews.
A private family only funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at the United First Church in Amboy with Pastor Mark Glenn officiating. Public may virtually attend by watching live stream on the Unger Horner Facebook page. Burial will be at Ashton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ashton Rescue.
