ROCHELLE — Dale L. Bryant, 91, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2020 with family by his side at home in Rochelle. Dale was born on July 13, 1929 to William Curtis and Clara (Thomas) Bryant in Luka, Ill. On July 17, 1982, he married Shirley Mosher in Oregon.  

Dale was an irreplaceable part of making Central School in Rochelle look and run well. He worked there for many years before retiring in 1990.

Dale is preceded in death by three brothers, Don, Robert and Curtis Bryant, as well as four sisters, Pearl Wells, Marjory Brennan, Dorothy Cronwell and Gladys Felty.

Dale’s energy and ability to bring laughter and joy to those around him will be missed by many.  

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Shirley Bryant of Rochelle; and his eight children, Linda Muller of Weed, California; Larry (Debbie) Bryant of Ottawa, Steve (Bobbie) Bryant of Rochelle, Carol (Ken) Johnson of Clinton, Iowa; Randy Mosher of Greenville, North Carolina, Jeff Mosher, Pamela (Scott) Odle of Rochelle, and Mark (Amy) Mosher of Ft. Myers, Florida. He is also survived by his very special grandchildren, CK and Adam Funderburgh, Chris and Dawn Bryant, Jon, Katie and Jessie Bryant, Doug and Kim Johnson, Ethan and Evin Odle and Lucas Mosher. Dale was also blessed with 12 great-grandchildren.

Dale’s wife and family pray that he awaits them in heaven with a hug and a joke.

A private, family-only funeral service was held Saturday, Dec. 26 at the First Presbyterian Church in Rochelle with Pastor Doug Forsberg officiating. Cremation care was provided after the service. 

Memorials may be made in Dale’s memory to the First Presbyterian Church in Rochelle.
