ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Community Hospital Foundation will host the 11th Annual “Hospital Hustle” 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, June 3 at 8 a.m.
This fun family event will be held at Rochelle Township High School, 1401 Flagg Road. The walk/run starts at the high school, follows the bike path to Atwood Park and back for a total of 3.1 miles. All proceeds from this year’s event will go towards the installation of a new 3D Mammography unit at Rochelle Community Hospital.
Entry fees are $25 for pre-registration up to June 2 and $30 on race day. Youth age 18 and under have a discounted registration fee of $15.
Carington’s Kids Race will be held before the 5K Award Ceremony at approximately 9:30 a.m.
Online registration is now available and open through June 2. To register online and for more race details, log onto the hospital’s website at www.rochellehospital.com/hustle. You are also welcome to print a registration form from the website or stop by the hospital to pick up a registration form.
Participants registered by May 26 will be guaranteed a t-shirt. Event t-shirts may be available after May 26 but supplies may be limited.
Awards will be presented to top overall male/female finishers, top three team winners and the first three male/female finishers in various age divisions ranging from youth to age 70.
Chip timing will be offered by J3Timing. Chips will be located on the tear-off tags of the bib you receive. This chip timing will provide more accurate results and placing for a better race experience. J3Timing will also provide finish line photos on-line.
Area businesses are invited to partner with the Foundation for this event. Please contact Michelle LaPage, RCH Community and Organizational Development Manager, at 815-561-3110 or email mlapage@rcha.net to learn about the variety of sponsorship opportunities available.
The race is not only a great fundraiser for the RCH Foundation but also a wonderful community builder. The goal includes developing good community relationships while promoting healthy lifestyle choices and encouraging participation in an active, challenging event.
