Donna C. Vrana, 86, passed away Friday, March 12, 2021 at her home in Rochelle with her family by her side. Donna was born on June 28, 1934 near Paynes Point, the daughter of Harry and Therese (Veer) Herring. She graduated from Stillman Valley High School. For many years, she worked as a waitress at the Rochelle Beacon.

ROCHELLE — Donna C. Vrana, 86, passed away Friday, March 12, 2021 at her home in Rochelle with her family by her side. Donna was born on June 28, 1934 near Paynes Point, the daughter of Harry and Therese (Veer) Herring. She graduated from Stillman Valley High School. For many years, she worked as a waitress at the Rochelle Beacon.  

She married George H. Vrana on Aug. 9, 1969 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rochelle. She was a long time member of St. Paul’s serving on the Alter Guild and member of the Deborah Circle.  She enjoyed gardening and her grandsons.  

Donna is survived by her husband of 51 years, George; two sons, Mike (Debbie) Vrana of Princeton, and Chuck (Patty) Vrana of Lafayette, Indiana; four grandsons, Scott (Abby) Vrana of Madras, Oregon, and Ryne (Alison) Vrana of Rochelle and Joshua and Noah Vrana of Lafayette, Indiana; brother, Richard (Gloria) Herring of Oregon; two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Benjamin with one on the way; nephews, Lon and Jamie Herring, Todd Grutter, Matthew and David Reineck; nieces, Peggy Wnek, Cindy Taylor and special niece, Sue Vrana.

Donna is preceded in death by her brother, Robert Herring and two sisters, Dolores Reineck and Diane Lathom.

There will be a graveside memorial service at a later date. Cremation care has been provided by the Unger-Horner Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or School.
