The Rochelle Hub fresh-soph football team kicked off the 2021 season Monday evening, defeating the Morris Redskins 36-26 at home to start the Interstate 8 Conference schedule with a 1-0 record. Rochelle will face LaSalle-Peru on the road Monday, March 29 at 5:30 p.m.

ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Hub fresh-soph football team kicked off the 2020-21 season Monday evening, defeating the Morris Redskins 36-26 at home to start the Interstate 8 Conference schedule with a 1-0 record. Rochelle will face LaSalle-Peru on the road Monday, March 29 at 5 p.m.
Sophomore Trey Taft carried the load for the Hub offense, running for a team-high 145 yards and four touchdowns. Sophomore Cody Cullum stepped up for Rochelle as well, rushing for 83 yards and one touchdowns while adding an interceptions on defense.
Freshman Landon Mickley made his presence felt on the defensive line, leading Rochelle with 10 tackles in the victory. Sophomore Aidan Darby pressured well off the edge, finishing with six tackles and a team-high two sacks for Rochelle.
