ROCHELLE — Francene Mary Roinas, 56, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2021 at St. Anthony Hospital in Rockford.
Fran was born on Oct. 15, 1964 to Eugene H. and Geraldine E. (Matranga) Horn in Rochelle. On Nov. 14, 1998, she married Scott Roinas at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Creston.
She is preceded in death by her parents and mother-in-law.
Fran is survived by her husband, Scott, of Rochelle; four children, Jessica (Chris) Dewey of Kings, Shane (Theresa) Roinas and Jason Roinas, both of Rochelle, and Keven (Ashley) Roinas of DeKalb; two sisters, Charlene (James) Bussell of Rochelle and Amy Horn of Doniphan, Missouri; and seven grandsons, Matthew, Jonathon, Nathaniel, Declan, Skylar, Mason and Elijah.
There is not a person who ever met Fran that was not impacted by her vibrant spirit. She always saw the best in everyone. She loved to bless others with her love of baking, best known for her peanut butter blossoms and Italian fig cookies.
Fran was also known for her love of flowers, roses her favorite. She earned an Associate’s degree in horticulture and enjoyed creating arrangements for various occasions. Fran will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
The visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 21 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The private family funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 22 at the funeral home with Pastor Doug Forsberg officiating.
The service will be live streamed on the Unger-Horner Funeral Home Facebook page. Cremation care will be provided after the services by the Unger-Horner Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made in Fran’s memory to Living Water Community Church.
