The Rochelle Lady Hub varsity bowling team ended its four-match losing streak on Tuesday, rolling over the Kaneland Knights 2,465-2,041 behind a 487 series from freshman Cassidy Vincent and a 467 series from senior Alyssa Mickley. Rochelle improved to 2-4 on the season and 2-3 in the Interstate 8 Conference with the victory over the Knights.

ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Lady Hub varsity bowling team ended its four-match losing streak on Tuesday, rolling over the Kaneland Knights 2,465-2,041 behind a 487 series from freshman Cassidy Vincent and a 467 series from senior Alyssa Mickley. Rochelle improved to 2-4 on the season and 2-3 in the Interstate 8 Conference with the victory over the Knights.

The Lady Hubs opened the match with an 828-652 victory in the first game. Sophomore Faith Adams fired 167 to lead the Rochelle team, while Vincent followed with 158 and Mickley scored 146. Preslee Sutherland totaled 141 in the first game for the Knights.

Rochelle edged Kaneland 723-679 in the second game, with Mickley rolling 142 and Sutherland shooting 166 for the Knights. The Lady Hubs won the third game 914-710 to complete the sweep. Sophomore Anahi Alanis opened the third game with five straight strikes and finished with a season-best score of 168, while Vincent shot a match-best 208 and Mickley scored 179.

Cavalier Classic

The Rochelle Lady Hub varsity bowling team took fifth out of 10 schools in the Cavalier Classic at the Illinois Valley Super Bowl on Saturday. Freshman Cassidy Vincent finished sixth overall with an 1,125 series, while senior Alyssa Schwanert placed 12th overall with a 1,030 series.

"I could not be prouder of the effort put forth by the girls today,” head coach Eric Widick said. “If someone faltered, another one stepped up. Our girls are learning the meaning of teamwork. They are now supporting each other. I could not be prouder of the effort of our girls today.”
